People will buy it just because it is "American." Some potent effects of Westernization are an increase in obesity and an enlarging gap between the rich and poor.

One of the many checkpoints that exists in in Palestinian territories outside of Jerusalem. Passing through one can be compared to a mice passing through various tunnels in a maze hoping to escape on the other end. Whether you are nine months pregnant and about to deliver, trying to make it to work or school at a given time, or are a foreigner, you have to make your way through these channels.

In her year before medical school, Nazneen Uddin spent 8 months back packing throughout the Middle East. She found a land rich in contrasts, and ample fodder for her camera lens.
